has anyone noticed that oor hobby is slowly goin doon the tubes? we have now reached that point where we have to rush for the volume control on the radio to prevent any kids or young visitors to the shack hearing stuff like "aye its the dogs bollo*ks" or "naw i canny be ars*d" apparently this has become acceptable , not to mention the very excessive use of the word "mate" no whit a mean mate? .... dont forget to tune into your local repeater where you will get details of all the radio gear thats is for sale? this former tabu also seems to have now gone,
a common practice ive noted also is the dropping of the start of the callsigns and only the last 3 letters being used, and on several occasions no callsign at all as the station calling into the freq is known to the others, its a real shame that the hobby having come this far is now slowly going down the tubes, oh i meant to say dont forget to listen on "cs" repeater for the latest great bargains from you local lidl store as this is a fairly regular thing that takes place .... we all sit and watch and do nothing? goodbye 2 metres your hayday passed and your demise to come ......

I must agree with some of your comments but there is new life to the hobby & it's good to see 2m busy. A select few have decided to treat the hobby as they did on the CB & think that getting P*%sed on the radio & swearing on air never mind the lack of call signs & going back to there old CB names is OK. Don't let the drunken idiots & idiots that talk about stuff they don't know about or look at the legs on that or I can see her knickers bring the hobby down ! Without saying any names should ofcom not be informed about there conduct & lack of respect for the license they hold ? Mind you if they had a brain they would not act like that would they

Have you had a look at the new Ofcom replacement for the BR68 due to be introduced in October?
Some of the points you raised regarding the content on Air (with respect to things for sale etc) have completly differnt wording in the new proposed document.
In any case - even with the current regs - the meaning of "advertising" is IMHO interpreted incorrectly by many UK amateurs - there is nothing to stop you saying you are sitting outside Asda or looking at things for sale on E-Bay - mentioning a name does not constitute advertising if you take the dictionary meaning of the word
